“Call me by my name” Knife crime research.

We are more then statistics, we are more then a report “call me by name “is a youth led research project aimed to look at the deeper rooted issues around violence and knife crime. We will be collecting and learning from our lived experiences and understanding what it means to be a young person in London today. We will be looking deeper into the impact of migration , war and trauma. We can not look at youth violence without looking at the violence in our systems, goverments and people in power which has impacted all our lives today.

Our project aims to bring young people together in Harrow to build strong relationships and a sense of community. We understand that the lack of opportunities and knife crime have led to a loss of hope among young people; and we believe that by fostering connections and providing a supportive environment; we can we can regain a sense of belonging and build positive relationships with their our peers. Our project focuses on improving the places and spaces that matter to the young people in Harrow. Currently there is no youth spaces in harrow which young people feel welcome in the way Nomads centre makes them feel. We believe that providing safe and inclusive spaces for them to gather; learn; and engage in activities will contribute to their overall well-being and sense of belonging.
